Atlanta Police later took the shooting suspect into custody at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Atlanta Police said 27-year-old Ronnie Dunn has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with a shooting early Saturday morning, Sept. 8, 2018 outside a bar near Georgia State Stadium.

ATLANTA -- Fulton County Jail officials released the mugshot of 27-year-old Ronnie Dunn Saturday afternoon. Dunn is charged with aggravated assault in connection with an altercation that escalated into a shootout in front of Tom, Dick & Hank's at about 1:00 Saturday morning.

It happened in the 100 block of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard, on the opposite side of the Downtown Connector from Georgia State Stadium.

Police investigators said when they arrived, they found a 37-year-old man who appeared to have been shot several times. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Investigators said their preliminary investigation showed Dunn and the victim were involved in an altercation outside the bar.

According to Atlanta Police Officer John Chafee, during the altercation, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim several times. Another man pulled his own and began to shoot at the suspect. They said Dunn hopped into a black Cadillac and left.

A short time later, Dunn and a female arrived at Grady Memorial Hospital. Both had been shot and were later listed in stable condition.

Investigators said they were able to determine that Dunn was the suspect in the shooting and took him into custody.

He is due to appear before a judge at the Fulton County Jail on Monday morning at 11 a.m.
