Barrett Parkway pedestrian seriously injured in crash identified

The victim wasn't in a crosswalk or near an intersection, police said.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Police have released the name of a man who was seriously injured while crossing a Cobb County highway Tuesday morning.

According to new information from the Cobb County Police Department, 26-year-old Robert Boldin of Powder Springs, Georgia was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a Lincoln Town Car on Ernest Barrett Parkway. This happened just before 4 a.m.

The large four-door sedan was heading north on the highway near Stilesboro Road when Boldin began crossing to the west. After hitting him, the driver of the Town Car pulled into the turn lanes of the highway and wasn't injured.

Police said Boldin was not in a crosswalk or at an intersection when he was hit. Preliminary information from police does not indicate any plans to file charges against the driver but officers are asking anyone with information about the crash call their Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) at 770-499-3987.
