Standing Behind Women Making a Difference

The 4th Annual Women’s Leadership Forum will be presented by The Junior League of Atlanta, Inc. (JLA) on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Atlanta Convention Center at AmericasMart. This invigorating full-day event will feature impactful professional and personal development targeting women in all stages of their careers.

This year's theme, The Power of a Woman's Voice, will inspire attendees to use their knowledge, instincts and passion to speak up for the things that matter most in their lives, and will encourage them to apply that learning to all aspects of their lives – from the boardroom to their community. Breakout sessions will include corporate and nonprofit leaders from various industries discussing subjects on themes including: Women Who Broke The Mold, Women Who Find Balance, Women Who Make Connections and Women Who Transform.

Veronika Scott, Founder and CEO of The Empowerment Plan, will serve as the luncheon keynote speaker. Scott has transformed countless lives through her empowering social entrepreneurship. The Empowerment Plan creates self-heated and waterproof coats that double as a sleeping bag at night. The Empowerment Plan also provides economic empowerment to people experiencing homelessness by hiring homeless women to produce coats for people living on the streets. Veronika has received numerous accolades including CNN’s Ten Visionary Women in the World, Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneur, ABC’s Person of the Week and is the youngest recipient of the John F. Kennedy New Frontier Award from the JFK Library Foundation and Harvard University.

“We are very excited about the year’s Women’s Leadership Forum program,” said JLA President Rebekah Henry Murphy. “By showcasing the power of a woman’s voice we hope to inspire women to take their learnings and apply them to improve our community through voluntarism, effective action and leadership.”

"JLA is excited to have community support from organizations like major sponsor, Emory Executive Education at Goizueta Business School. These groups understand the importance of development programs like the Women's Leadership Forum," said Murphy.

The JLA will also present the inaugural Inspired Leadership Award, designed to honor a woman for her significant and distinguished service to a JLA partner agency and the greater Atlanta community at large.

Tickets are available for $100 per person and tables of 10 can be purchased for $1,000. Company sponsorship opportunities are also available. To learn more about sponsoring this event, email JLA Corporate Giving Chair Emilie Hill at corporategiving@jlatlanta.org.
