A construction worker was killed on the job after a tragic accident with a front end loader.

On Thursday evening around 5:40, the victim, a 35-year old Hispanic man from Clayton County, was working at the Pinewood Forest Development Construction site located at 290 Heatherden Avenue.

According to the Fayette County Deputy coroner, he stepped off the machine, walked behind it and was crushed when it rolled backward.

The victim's co-workers saw the reverse lights on the front end loader, but didn't see anyone operating it, Fayetteville Police said. When they went to check it out, they found the victim's body.

The investigation is ongoing by the Fayetteville Police Traffic Unit.
