1 in custody after threat made against Cobb school

"Last week our school received an email which contained threatening content," the district said in a statement.

MABLETON, Ga. — One person was taken into custody after Cobb County School District said a treat was made against one of its school.

11Alive reached out to the district to find out if there was a threat made against Floyd Middle School. The district released the following statement as a response: 

"Last week our school received an email which contained threatening content. An investigation was immediately launched involving the Cobb County School District Police Department, local law enforcement and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. 

Our community was notified of the threatening email, and through our partnership with local law enforcement, we can confirm that authorities have made an arrest. As the law enforcement investigation is ongoing, we cannot add any more detail at this time."

While an arrest has been made, officials have yet to release the suspect's identity.
