EATONTON, Ga. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly Saturday night shooting in Eatonton.
It happened Saturday night at about 9:30, at Headhunter's Racetrack on Edward Reaves Road. Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills told our Macon sister station WMAZ two people were killed and four others were hurt in the shooting.
According to the sheriff, the two deceased men, 24-year-0old Jestin Devonta Dunn of Sparta and 23-year-old Shurron Deion Havior of Milledgeville worked together at a lumber plant in Putnam County and got into an altercation earlier during the week.
The two men apparently brought their altercation to the track. Sills sais it appears Dunn and Havior were shooting at each other -- two semi-automatic handguns were found near the bodies of both men.
Sills confirmed that the four people reported injured during the shooting were caught in the crossfire between Dunn and Havior.
Henry Dorsey, 33, was taken to Navicent Health in Macon for treatment; Nerocus Peaks, 33, was transported to Putnam General Hospital. Zakeriyah Sanders was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Athens for treatment. The youngest victim, 8-year-old Kolluns Turner was also transported to Putnam General Hospital to be treated for injuries. The conditions of each of the victims was not immediately available, but Sheriff Sills said that all four were expected to recover.
Sills said that investigators were not ready to rule out whether there was anyone else involved in the shooting.
