KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A 2-year-old girl was raped, allegedly by a family member in Kansas City. Police there are investigating after the child’s mother brought her to the hospital with injuries.
KSHB reports that the Kansas City, Kansas Police Chief Terry Zeigler said the toddler and her siblings were in the care of a family friend on April 24 while their mother was away.
The next morning, KSHB reports that the mother discovered the injuries of her daughter and took her to Children’s Mercy Hospital where an examination confirmed that she was raped.
Doctors also found that she had a sexually transmitted disease.
The case is still under investigation and police have not announced any arrests.
