A 61-year-old Marietta man was hurt in a wreck between an SUV and a motorcycle in Marietta Saturday evening along Delk Road near Bentley Road.

Marietta Police said 61-year-old Gilbert Espinet of Marietta was riding eastbound on Delk Road near Bentley Road on his 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle when a 2006 GMC Envoy driven by 31-year-old Christopher Johnson of Marietta turned in front of Espinet into a Shell station.

Investigators said Espinet was unable to avoid the Envoy and collided with the SUV on Delk Road. Espinet suffered several injuries and was transported by ambulance to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta for treatment.

Two others were in Johnson's SUV -- a 5-year-old in the back seat and a 28-year-old in the front seat. Police said neither person was seriously hurt, although the front seat passenger had to be cut out of the vehicle.

Police arrested Johnson and charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI-child endangerment, failure to yield and open container. He was taken by police to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

The wreck remains under investigation.
