DeKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- Police are on the lookout for a shooter who left a man in critical condition early Friday morning.
The call came in around 6:50 a.m. that a person had been shot in the 4400 block of Stonington Trace, a neighborhood in southern DeKalb County. The victim has been described as a 65-year-old male.
The victim and witnesses told police the man was warming up his car, then exited his home when he encountered two young black males who were attempting to steal his car. One of the suspects shot the homeowner in his chest.
Police said the car was not taken after the shooting, and the victim is expected to survive.
