Arrest closes case involving murder near Piedmont Park

ATLANTA — Police have made an arrest six months after the shooting death of a man in a Midtown home near Piedmont Park.

According to Atlanta police, 42-year-old Antonio Evans was arrested for the shooting of Christopher Morris at a home in the 900 block of Myrtle Street. 

The investigation began on July 30, 2018, when police found Morris dead in the kitchen with a gunshot wound to the head. 

Detectives believe the victim and his alleged killer knew each other and that the shooting was drug-related. Not long after the investigation began, Evans was one of four people wanted for questioning by police. He's now in Fulton County jail charged with felony murder.

With the arrest, the Atlanta Police Department said they have closed the case.
