COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A California man will serve life in prison after attacking and kidnapping his girlfriend as she attempted to break up with him.

Cobb District Attorney Vic Reynolds announced the news Tuesday morning.

On Feb. 8, Orlando Mickey Rhinehart, 31, reportedly kidnapped his girlfriend after she tried to end their relationship during an argument at a Delk Road motel where he physically attacked her. He would end up hitting her, pulling her hair out and spitting on her.

He forced her into her own car, called someone and began telling them he didn’t know what he going to do with her.

When they got to an area that the victim recognized, she jumped out of the moving car falling onto the pavement and began running to the Sam’s Club on Cobb Parkway in Marietta, Georgia. Rhinehart then logged onto Twitter and began tweeting about what he had done.

Rhinehart was charged with kidnapping with bodily injury and two counts of battery but was acquitted of robbery and aggravated assault. Cobb County Superior Court Judge Ann Harris sentenced Rhinehart to life in prison.
