Cedartown shooting leaves 1 dead, 1 hurt

The police chief said no suspects are at large and there is no threat to the public.

CEDARTOWN, Ga. — Cedartown Police responded to an early Tuesday morning shooting where one person was killed and another person was injured.

Although the incident is currently under investigation, Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome said no suspects are at large.

The shooting happened on Jule Peek Avenue. 

Newsome said a woman who was shot died from her injury. A man was also shot and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police said there is no safety threat to the public.

No other details have been released.
