OXFORD, Ga. — A well-known Florida actor and comedian said he had an unexpected - but short - stay in a metro Atlanta jail earlier in the week.
Lil Duval, whose real name is Roland Powell, took to Twitter and Instagram claiming he had been taken to Newton County jail on allegations he was driving on a license suspended since 1997.
In a follow-up post, he shared a smiling mugshot that shows that it was filed with the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
The Newton County Sheriff's Office has since confirmed the arrest by Oxford police, referring further questions to them. Lil Duval was booked and released on the same day.
Taking his name from the county where he first made his name - Duval - the Jacksonville, Florida native has since gone on to become a well-known name in comedy with acting chops as well.
He also released his debut solo single "Smile (Living My Best Life)" in mid-2018 which moved into the Billboard Hot 100.
