SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — School officials say a man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital on Friday after being shot while on the campus of Creekside High School.
A Fulton County Schools media release makes no mention of when the shooting happened though people at the night's football game against Mays said they heard the shots around 10 in the fourth quarter. They saw police cars in the area as they left.
The Fulton County Schools Police Department has since elaborated that a man was taken from the campus with a gunshot wound to the wrist. They also said those involved didn't appear to be students of either school.
"Fulton County Schools Police is investigating the incident and will take every action necessary to hold those accountable who potentially endangered the safety of our school community," the department statement said, adding that criminal behavior "will not be tolerated" at any of its schools.
The release made no mention of whether they are looking for a specific person as a person of interest or suspect in the case, yet.
The department also thanked the public for their support during the investigation and encourage anyone with information about the crime to contact them. For now, the department said their search for answers - and the investigation - remains underway.
