DeKalb authorities seek help finding suspect in deadly motel shooting

The suspect allegedly shot his victim several times before speeding away from the scene of the crime - a local Motel 6.

DeKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office needs your help finding a suspected killer who remains on the run more than a month after his alleged crimes.

Sheriff's office spokesperson Cynthia Williams told 11Alive on Tuesday that 20-year-old Kaylon Janard "Hooty" Jiles of Tucker, Georgia is wanted in a fatal shooting at a Chamblee-Tucker Road Motel 6.

Investigators believe Jiles shot the victim, Eric Fisher, several times before speeding away in a black sedan on Nov. 5. Fisher died from his injuries.

Now the search is on for information leading to the arrest of Jiles, who is now charged with felony murder.

In addition to being wanted in connection with the deadly crime, Jiles could have gang connections, a weapon and be in possession of drugs. So authorities warn the public not to approach him. Instead, tipsters can provide information anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 404-577-8477 (TIPS). Those same tips can be provided directly to the sheriff's office at 404-298-8402.
