DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a man at America’s Best Value Inn in DeKalb on Wednesday. Diamond Boykin was arrested under warrants for felony murder and first degree home invasion.
Police said they found the victim inside when they arrived at the motel. The people inside the room knew the 26-year-old suspect and opened the door, according to police. Police said the shooter then barged inside the room before allegedly assaulting and shooting the victim.
Sgt. Lynn Shuler with DeKalb Police said the victim was shot between five and six times in the abdomen and chest area.
Boykin is currently in custody at the DeKalb County Jail awaiting a hearing. The shooter has not yet been identified.
