GRAYSON, Ga. — The 30-minute period during which a Kroger employee was beaten and stabbed by her co-worker is recounted in vivid detail in a newly-released report from Gwinnett Police.
Police arrested 21-year-old Akin Williams in the early morning hours of Sunday on allegations that he stabbed 59-year-old Maria Mosher in the neck, hands and legs. But the report shows that was only part of the attack and bizarre behavior shown by Williams.
The arriving officer found a group of employees standing at the front door and immediately asked what happened. The employees said that Williams had stabbed another employee and they took the officer to the break room. At this point, Williams was believed to be somewhere else in the store.
The officer walked into the break room to find Mosher laying on the floor covered in blood.
"There were areas of blood all over the room," the report said. Some of the furniture was broken."
The officer immediately noticed that Mosher had cuts to her face, neck and hands. Another employee was holding towels on her neck wounds as the officer realized the victim also had wounds on her abdomen and legs.
Though nearly blacking out at the end of their conversation, Mosher was able to tell police that Williams was her attacker.
"I asked her why and she said Akin [Williams] doesn't like her and he is not right in the head," the report said.
Fire personnel ultimately arrived to remove Mosher from the room as police continued their investigation with review of surveillance video.

In it, Williams appeared to be purchasing an item around 5 a.m. at one of the self-checkout counters. Around the same time, Mosher was seen arriving and going into the break room with her belongings. Roughly three minutes later, the report states that she was placing her items into a locker when Akin entered the break room and kicked the doorstop to allow the door to close behind him.
The report said he approached quickly from the rear and "began brutally attacking her knocking her to the ground where he proceeded to punch her repeatedly about the face and body.
The report said Mosher tried to fight back for several minutes as the attack continued.
"After several minutes, Akin could be seen retrieving something from his pocket," the report said. "He then continued his attack on Maria [Mosher]."
At this point, police said the surveillance video showed bleeding and blood started to cover the floor.
The attack then continued for minutes more as Mosher laid on the ground motionless as Williams gathered cleaning supplies and began attempting to clean up the blood.
"After several more minutes, Maria got up and tried to leave the room," the report said. "Akin stopped her at the door and slammed her onto the ground."
The police report said that the victim appeared to become unconscious at this point as Williams dragged her away from the door and continued attempts to clean up the blood and rearrange the furniture.
"When Maria regained consciousness, Akin kicked her in the head, causing her to become motionless again," the report stated. "After cleaning the blood from his shoe, Akin continued to clean the room."
The report goes on to say that Mosher tried to leave the room several more times and was attacked each time.
"He also dragged her around the room every time she attempted to move to another spot," it added.
The attack allegedly continued for roughly half an hour or more.
Surveillance video also appeared to show the suspect trying to dispose of a large garbage bag full of bloody towels around the store. Williams is also shown attempting to leave the store in the front and back but being unable to do so due to locked doors.
It wasn't until about 6 a.m. that another employee arrived according to the report. She saw Mosher laying on the floor and Williams cleaning up. When she asked the suspect what had happened, he merely told her that he had it all under control and had already called 911.
However, the report said that when the employee returned from checking for the ambulance, she discovered Williams had disappeared. The victim ultimately told her what had happened.
Another employee who didn't witness the attack followed Williams as he went around the store. The employee then told other officers where the suspect was as they arrived.
In individual statements, the asset protection manager for the store said that Williams never made a purchase at the self-checkout counter despite what the video appeared to show. She also said that the suspect wasn't scheduled to work that early at the store.
Yet another employee said Williams had asked for a knife the previous afternoon. He allegedly said he wanted to use it to open boxes and bags the next morning. The employee said she didn't have a knife for him to use.
As a result of the attack and attempts to keep the victim from escaping, Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, and false imprisonment.
Police still haven't publicly released the official motive for the attack but did say in a recent statement that she is the suspect's supervisor. Mosher's condition isn't known though police said her injuries required surgery.
