Man shot to death while visiting for Thanksgiving in Gwinnett Co.

Police are investigating the homicide in unincorporated Lilburn.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police are investigating an early morning homicide in outside of Lilburn.

A 30-year-old Hispanic man was found with gunshot wounds to his upper body at a residence on Barnaby Ct., police said, and later died at a hospital.

"The victim does not reside at the address and was visiting friends/family for Thanksgiving," police said in a release. There was no information yet about a suspect, but detectives said they do not believe the crime is random.

Police said the victim and witnesses were in the residence's garage when gunfire struck the man. Police were called just before 3 a.m. to the location on Friday morning,

The man is not yet being identified by police while they notify his family.
