Gwinnett Police looking for suspect following deadly hit-and-run

Police said the body was found in the middle of the roadway.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett Police said they are asking for help from the public in locating a vehicle and driver who were involved in a fatal hit and run incident.

On Saturday, July 20, just before midnight, officers from the Gwinnett West Precinct responded to a call regarding a man lying in the middle of the roadway in the 1300 block of Beaver Ruin Road in unincorporated Gwinnett County near Norcross.

Police said the caller to 911 had indicated that it appeared that the man had been struck by a vehicle.

Officers found the man, later identified 38-year-old Kevin Brown of Norcross, unresponsive, lying in the middle of the roadway.

Brown was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Gwinnett County Police Accident Investigation Unit was called out to investigate the incident. Investigators determined that Brown appeared to have been struck by a vehicle as he was crossing the roadway.

The vehicle that struck him left the scene before police arrived and the driver never contacted 911.
