A 39-year-old man will spend 40 years in prison after he entered a non-negotiated guilty plea for raping and impregnating his biological daughter, the Fulton County District Attorney's office announced this week.

Between May 1, 2016, and November 30, 2016, "Cedric" repeatedly performed oral sex upon and raped his 13-year-old biological daughter, DA Paul L. Howard, Jr. said. The sexual abuse continued until the defendant impregnated the victim.

According to court documents, the victims grandmother noticed the girl was pregnant at her 14th birthday party and preported the abuse to Union City Police.

DNA evidence confirmed that Cedric was the biological father of his daughter’s unborn child, and the defendant was arrested, the DA said. The victim eventually gave birth to the child.

Jail records unveiled Cedric’s intentions to intimidate his victim and to hinder any prosecution of this case by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Cedric instructed his daughter’s mother to take her daughter and the infant child and leave Georgia.

The mother, her daughter, and the infant child relocated to South Carolina per Cedric’s instructions; however, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office collaborated with the Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office in South Carolina to secure the victim and her mother for trial, they said.

"We will continue to work to see to it that defendants who target the most vulnerable citizens within our community are held accountable for their actions,” Howard said.

During jury selection this week, Cedric decided to enter the plea and he was sentenced by the judge to 40 years in prison plus life on probation. He is convicted of rape, incest, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy and sexual battery.

"The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office will continue to work with the victim and her family, in this case, to be sure that she receives the proper treatment and assistance as a result of the trauma she has endured," Howard said.
