Man killed during apparent home invasion in Gwinnett County

The 50-year-old man was found by a family member who heard a noise coming from the garage, police said.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A 50-year-old man was killed during an apparent home invasion late Friday night in a relatively new subdivision in northern Gwinnett County.

Police said it happened on Kendrix Ridge Drive in an area to the west of Buford.
Police said they think someone broke in and tried to steal something from inside a home in Gwinnett County late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

Gwinnett Police said a family member found the victim. She came downstairs after hearing a noise in the garage at about 10 p.m. on Friday night.

Investigators said she found him badly hurt, bleeding from a head wound.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died. His name has not been released, as of this point.

Investigators said that they are looking for a suspect. They do not have a description to release of one as of this point.

They said family members did not see anyone, but they hope interviews with others in the community or surveillance video from the neighborhood may lead them to a suspect.
