A Stockbridge man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being convicted of a sex crime against children.

According to the Henry County District Attorney's Office, a jury found 49-year-old David Anthony Jackson guilty on two counts of rape, three counts of aggravated child molestation, three counts of child molestation and one count of incest on Friday.

Jackson was accused of raping and sodomizing three children. The victims were between the ages of 4 and 9. Prosecutors said the crimes happened at homes in Locust Grove and Stockbridge and that sexual abuse occurred from 2007 to 2016.

“This man preyed upon three children, sexually abusing them and threatening them not to tell,” Henry County District Attorney Darius Pattillo said in a news release. “All three children bravely reported the abuse and testified this week, telling jurors they wanted to be superheroes and protect other children from getting hurt. The children and their families are grateful to have justice.”

The judge sentenced him to five consecutive life sentences following the guilty verdict.
