GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- A man flagged down a private ambulance company pleading that they help his wounded brother. Now police are investigating the incident leading up to that moment as a shooting.
Police responded to a stretch of Highway 316 in Gwinnett County around 2:30 p.m. to find the victim shot in the leg after the brother flagged down the ambulance and they called 911.
The man said his brother called him for pickup from a Lawrenceville apartment complex, but when he arrived the brother had already been shot. At that point, the man said he loaded his brother up to bring him to the hospital only opting to get an ambulance when he saw one on the ride there.
The victim was ultimately taken to the hospital by Gwinnett Fire. Since the investigation began away from the original crime scene, many details are still unclear. Among them, authorities are trying to figure out exactly where the shooting happened or why.
Police haven’t released the condition of the victim but did say that he is being interviewed as are other potential witnesses.
