Man found shot, killed inside southwest Atlanta home

Narcotics were found in plain view, according to Atlanta Police.

ATLANTA — Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death at a home in southwest Atlanta near Rosa L. Burney Park.

Atlanta Police said officers responded to calls of shots fired at a home on Crumley St., SW, on Feb. 17 and found the victim dead inside. His identity has not yet been released.

Early investigation indicates that the victim invited the shooting suspect into the home and an altercation later occurred, according to Atlanta Police. Narcotics were also found in plain view inside the home.

One neighbor told police she heard gunshots and ran to the window. She said she saw someone run out of the victim's apartment and jump into a black Escalade and leave the scene. Officers forced their way into the apartment and found the man dead on the living room floor.

Police have not released any suspect information or motive for this shooting, which remains under investigation.
