ATLANTA -- Police say a person was rushed to the hospital and later died after being shot in a popular mixed-use residential and commercial community in Midtown Atlanta.
The shooting happened Thursday evening in the 200 block of 18th Street - in the development known as Atlantic Station. Video from a viewer shows crime scene tape and investigators inside the garage.
Atlanta Police said the 21-year-old was in the garage to conduct a "criminal transaction."
The gunman is still on the run.
Atlantic Station released a statement a short time after saying they're working with police.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim," the statement added. "We are working closely with our security team and the Atlanta Police Department."
