ATLANTA — A string of crimes in Midtown Atlanta has people on edge in one neighborhood.

Residents along Renaissance Parkway are concerned about recent thefts, and one of the crimes was caught on camera last weekend at the Siena at Renaissance Park apartments.

That's where a camera catches two people - a man and a woman - breaking to an apartment mailbox. Surprised by the camera, the man rips it from the wall and then rifles through the mail.

However, this is not the only building that's been hit.

"There are four associations, and at least three of them have been hit," one person told 11Alive.

"These kinds of things keep happening around here," said Isha Gupta, a neighbor.

The numbers prove it. In the last three months, police have investigated about 500 crimes against people and property within a one-mile radius of Renaissance Parkway. The crimes range from simple theft to robbery.

Atlanta Police hope someone recognized the man and woman in the video and call authorities.
