Man found shot dead at Norcross apartment

Officers are seeking witnesses to the death

NORCROSS, Ga. — Police are on the scene investigating the shooting death of a man at an apartment complex near Norcross. 

They said a deceased Hispanic male was found by a family friend or relative just before 7 a.m. on Friday at the Oakwood Vista Apartments off Coleville Circle. 

Officers arrived on scene to find that the patio door had broken glass. The victim was found in the bedroom suffering from a fatal gunshot wound, they said.

Officers say were are knocking on doors seeking witnesses to the homicide.

"We heard from a tipster who said that the victim was possibly on the phone with another person at the time of the crime. Detectives are waiting to corroborate this information," police said in a news release.

The name of the victim is being withheld until his next-of-kin can be notified.
