Police: Gangster Disciples members arrested after 'chaotic' situation near Circle K

A "unique" gun led police to other crimes.

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Police say two members of the Gangster Disciples street gang were arrested after a violent scene outside of a convenience store in Marietta.

The "chaotic" situation unfolded around 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 10 near the parking lot of a Circle K near Bells Ferry Road and Williams Road, according to Marietta police.

Authorities said Antonio Williams stabbed Anthony McCuen after a drug deal went bad. Moments later, McCuen allegedly ran after Williams and shot him several times.

McCuen was treated for his injuries and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. Williams was also taken into custody.

Investigators said they discovered a third man, Demarquez Simmons, was also involved in the dispute. He was taken into custody and booked into Cobb ADC .

Detectives said that two "unique" handguns found near the Circle K led them to an investigation of two armed robberies near that same store several hours earlier. Authorities said that Simmons and McCuen were responsible for those robberies. Further investigation led detectives to discover items that had been stolen from a vehicle break-in the previous day that were allegedly in McCuen's possession.

While reviewing the case, police determined that McCuen and Simmons were members of the Gangster Disciples, a nationwide gang allegedly responsible for countless murders and robberies as well as extortion plots and drug trafficking throughout the United States.
