Police: LaGrange 18-year-old killed in shooting in broad daylight

Authorities are on the hunt for an alleged gunman who shot and killed an 18-year-old as he walking in broad daylight, just days before Christmas.

It happened Dec. 23 around 3 p.m., near the intersection of Troup and Jenkins Streets. 

According to LaGrange Police, 18-year-old Niko Hurston was walking with two other people when a suspect drove up, fired multiple shots, then drove off. 

Police responded after getting reports of shots fired. When they got there, they found Hurston shot to the chest. First responders transported the 18-year-old to Well Star West Georgia Hospital, but he died from his injuries. 

Investigators are now searching for the suspect, who was said to have arrived and fled the scene in a light-colored four door car.  On Monday, police released a photo of the vehicle, which they said appears to be a white Honda Accord with tinted windows.
