Police: No one hurt in armed robbery at Stockbridge steakhouse

Employees said the robbers wore masks and took cash and their cellphones before they fled.

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — Employees at a Henry County steakhouse were robbed at gunpoint Saturday night, according to police.

John Davis with the Henry County Police Department said officers were sent to an Outback Steakhouse in the 200 block of North Park Trail Court in Stockbridge after receiving reports of an armed robbery in progress.

When they arrived, officers said employees told them that two black males armed with guns and wearing masks robbed them of an unknown amount of cash and their cellphones.

Davis said the victims told them the robbers then left the restaurant and ran toward Interstate 75, where there was a vehicle waiting.

According to Davis, an officer observed the suspect vehicle and gave a brief chase on I-75, where the vehicle stopped near the Walt Stephens Road overpass.

Before three suspects left the vehicle, Davis said, an officer indicated that he heard about five gunshots. There was no indication that the gunshots were aimed at law enforcement or were just random discharges.

Davis said that additional law enforcement, including Georgia State Patrol and K9 units, set up a perimeter in the area, but the suspects were not located.

During their search, Davis said, one person was detained by police, however, that person was later released from the scene.

No police or civilians were reported injured.

The case remains under investigation by Henry County Police detectives.
