Nicole Ledford has been charged with cruelty to animals for feeding a meth-and-marijuana laced milkshake to her dog during a traffic stop.

MARIETTA, Ga. — A 37-year-old Austell woman is in custody after police said she fed a milkshake laced with methamphetamine and marijuana to her dog during a traffic stop.

According to a criminal warrant, Ledford was stopped by police on Barrett Parkway at McDaniel Road in Marietta in September.

During the traffic stop, she tried to hide a quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine by putting it into a milkshake and having her dog, Moose, drink it.

The warrant says the presence of THC was confirmed by a veterinary urine toxicity screening.

As a result, Ledford was charged with misdemeanor cruelty to animals.

Though the traffic stop occurred last year Ledford was taken into custody on Jan. 16.
