Police: Woman fires shots at car with three child inside in road rage incident

The kids were ages six, four and three.

BROOKHAVEN, Ga. -- A woman opened fire towards a vehicle carrying a family -- including three young children -- in a suspected road rage incident Thursday morning, police said.

According to Brookhaven Police, an Acworth man said he was driving with his wife and children around 9:25 a.m. when he was cut off by a 2016 Acura as he attempted to merge with traffic.

The driver of the Acura fired shots at the car, police said.

Police said they later caught up with that driver, Knokeisha Tonisha Jones, who admitted to brandishing the gun, but denied that she fired any shots.

Authorities said two bullet holes were found in the victim's vehicle. They believe between two and seven shots were fired.

Jones was arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated assault, three counts of cruelty to children in the third degree and three counts of cruelty to children - causing excessive physical or mental pain.
