CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A woman has been taken to jail after gunfire alerted neighbors - then the police - to the armed robbery of a postal worker in Clayton County.

According to the Clayton County Police Department, officers were called to the area of Tara Boulevard and Summercourt Drive on Wednesday in reference to a person shooting a gun.

They arrived to find the victim, a U.S. Post Office courier, who had been robbed of his packages by a woman with a rifle. Officers evacuated and blocked traffic in the area as a precaution.

They later arrested a female suspect on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault though they haven't yet released her name. The postal worker wasn't injured.
