Suspect caught in S.C. after string of bank robberies in Ga.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The suspect wanted for three bank robberies across Georgia and South Carolina has been caught.

Athens Clarke-County Police said 58-year-old Frank Douglas was arrested in Greenville, South Caroline on Dec. 12 for an unrelated charge. He had an active warrant for a bank robbery out of North Augusta.

ACCPD and the FBI traveled to South Carolina and confirmed Douglas was responsible for three bank robberies in Athens on Dec. 5, Conyers, Georgia on Nov. 30, and North Augusta on Nov. 27.

The bank robbery investigation was a joint effort between ACCPD, Conyers Police and the FBI.
