Authorities believe he may also be connected to other crimes in the area.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Gwinnett police have made one arrest connected to an attempted church burglary on May 10.

Anthony Dean Scoggins Jr., a 38-year-old man from Grayson, Georgia, was taken into custody on Thursday linked to a theft at Grafted Church located in the 2100 block of Five Forks Trickum Road outside of Lawrenceville.

Police previously provided photos trying to identify Scoggins. That footage allegedly comes from surveillance footage at the church where he tries to enter the from door and then goes to the back to gain entry.

The alarm then sounds and he runs back to his vehicle - a gray newer-model four-door Kia. Since his arrest, police have connected him to other thefts in the area in recent months as well.
