Unknown substance thrown in driver's face after traffic dispute, sending her to hospital

The victim told police the driver in a Mercedes suddenly pulled up close behind her vehicle and started beeping the horn aggressively.

ATLANTA — A traffic dispute sent one woman to the hospital after she claims an irate passenger from another car thew a liquid on her, causing a burning in her eyes.

Now more than a month later, police have released surveillance video in the case, hoping that someone identifies the suspects involved. 

The events unfolded right near a church and Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta.

According to the police report, officers were called to 1580 Peachtree Street on Sept. 19 around 10:45 a.m. to respond to the incident.

The victim told police she was driving in her car on Peachtree Street approaching Spring Street and was trying to change lanes but ended up cutting of a woman driving a white Mercedes-Benz. 

She told police the driver in the Mercedes suddenly pulled up close behind her vehicle and started beeping the horn aggressively.

But then, what happened next landed the victim with a trip to the hospital.

She told police when she came to a complete stop, the driver and a man got out of the Mercedes and confronted her. She said the man, who was a passenger in the car, thew a purple-like substance on her. Some of it splashed into her face. The suspects left the scene.

The police said EMS were called to the scene because the victim complained of "a burning sensation on her skin and eyes." She was taken to the hospital for her injuries. 

In the video police released, they drew a red circle around two people who are standing near a white SUV.

Officers said they believe the suspects in the clip are connected to this simple battery case.
