Triple shooting, wounded man's desperate door knocks wake quiet DeKalb street

Two men were killed and one was critically injured early Thursday morning in Lithonia.

LITHONIA, Ga. — Residents on a Lithonia street were woken by the sound of gunfire and a critically wounded man knocking on doors for help early Thursday morning, in an incident police are still investigating.

Three men were shot, with two of them dead and one in critical condition, on Woodmere Dr. Neighbors said they heard about four to five shots fired, according to Lt. Rod Bryant of DeKalb County Police.

One of the men was found dead on the scene in a car, while one was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Bryant said police hadn’t yet found any witnesses, calling the street a quiet neighborhood where it was dark and people would have been sound asleep when the shooting happened.

There’s no word on a possible suspect, and police said it was early in the investigation.

They’re asking anyone with information to call the DeKalb homicide unit at 770-724-7850 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS(8477).
