SMYRNA, Ga. -- An elementary school in Cobb Co. was on lockdown Tuesday morning.

Teasley Elementary School in Smyrna was placed on lockdown after someone noticed a man with a gun holster near campus. Smyrna Police said the man made no threats, was not brandishing the gun but was just seen in the area.

Teasley is located on Spring Hill Parkway and is a polling location for today's runoff.

The lockdown was lifted just before 8:30 a.m.

Nan Kiel with Cobb County Schools said police talked to the man and it was a false report. Now that the lockdown is lifted, the school day is proceeding normally, she said.
