Students accused of filming teens having sex on school grounds

Parents tell 11Alive sexually-suggestive videos are being openly shot and shared among students, right under adults' noses.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — 11Alive is hearing of shocking allegations made by parents of a metro Atlanta high school.

They tell 11Alive sexually-suggestive videos are being openly shot and shared among students on campus of Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, right under adults' noses.

"The school isn't safe for any of the kids," one mom, who didn't want to be identified, told 11Alive.

The parents described videos being shared of fights, drugs on school grounds, and even sexual acts being performed on campus.

"The girl and the boy having sex in the boy's bathroom – unprotected – and the male is video taping the entire situation," a mom explained. "You can see the girl's face clearly, that it's somebody at Langston Hughes High School."

Parents told 11Alive the videos spread easily among students thanks to a cellphone feature called Airdrop, which allows for wireless transfer of files from phone to phone via Bluetooth. From there, the videos can be shared on social media. They claim it even creates situations where revenge porn is shared, a reference to when a recorded sexual act is intentionally leaked without permission, usually after a breakup.

And then, there's allegations of drug deals on campus. One mom told 11Alive her son confessed to buying the mid-altering drug spice.

11Alive reached out to the Fulton County School District for more context. The district said from 2017 to now, there have been 17 documented drug cases at the school and seven sexual misconduct incidents.

The school district also sent a statement saying, "Fulton County Schools takes all criminal activity seriously. When we are alerted to an alleged crime, we notify law enforcement immediately. Disciplinary action is swift and in accordance with our district Student Code of Conduct, which can ultimately lead to the offender facing criminal charges and/or long-term suspension or expulsion from school."
