Father wanted for homicide, boys still missing in Phoenix Amber Alert case

She believes Nuñez was doing everything she could to try to escape and that Nuñez feared for her life.

PHOENIX - Two young Valley boys remain missing after an Amber Alert went out Saturday morning and now Phoenix Police have issued a homicide warrant for their biological father.

The boys' mother, Oralia Nuñez, 24, and her roommate Omar Gonzalez, 34, were shot and killed in their home Saturday morning. The two boys, 8-year-old and Victor Coronado Nuñez and 5-year-old Jonathan Coronado Nuñez both disappeared afterward, believed to be taken by their biological father, Dimas Coronado.

On Monday, Mexico issued an Amber Alert for the missing boys.

12 News spoke with a woman who knew the victims, asking us to not release her name. She said whoever has the boys, need to bring them home immediately.

"Very sad...very angry," she said. "I feel very sad, I feel weak."

She's now heartbroken after learning Nuñez and Gonzalez were found dead Saturday morning. She says she wants justice.

Police said they had been called to the residence multiple times in the past for domestic violence.

The woman who spoke to 12 News said she was aware of ongoing domestic violence in Nuñez's relationship with Coronado.

"There were problems," she said. "He would hit her and kept her indoors."

She believes Nuñez was doing everything she could to try to escape and that Nuñez feared for her life.

"We thought that it would get better," she said.

But, unfortunately, it didn't. Police are now on the hunt for the person who killed Nuñez, who was eight months pregnant, and Gonzalez.

"It's a woman that fought for her life..." she said. "...that fought until the last minute for her kids."

The two missing boys were last seen near 32nd Avenue and Van Buren Street.

"We're very worried about them and we want them back home," the woman told us.

Police found a truck they believed was tied to the boys' disappearance at a Phoenix home. Now, they are searching for a different truck. It's an aqua green Ford F-150 pickup truck with a white camper shell. The truck has a Mexico license plate: ZUD7164.

Police have issued warrants for Coronado and he faces three charges of homicide.

"Please bring the boys back," the woman said.

Family and friends of Nuñez and Gonzalez are trying to raise money for memorial services using a GoFundMe page.

On Sunday night, Phoenix PD said there were no updates, but wanted to emphasize the investigation is active and the Amber Alert is still in effect.

"Phoenix Police Detectives are following up on several tips and continue to work with our federal, state and local law enforcement partners," Phoenix PD said in a release. "We are asking the public's assistance in locating these two children and the suspect, Dimas Coronado, who is considered armed and dangerous."
