Georgia State Patrol predicts busy Thanksgiving holiday weekend

Troopers will be patrolling interstates and secondary roads throughout the state all holiday weekend.

Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel weeks of the year – in fact, AAA is expecting to see the highest travel volumes since 2005. In response, Georgia State Patrol will be looking for traffic offenders and people driving under the influence.

“In an effort to reduce traffic crashes and deter bad driving behaviors, troopers will be patrolling interstates and secondary roads throughout the state during the holiday period,” said Colonel Mark W. McDonough, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Safety.
