ATLANTA — House Bill 481 better known as the "heartbeat" abortion bill could be one of the reasons Governor Kemp postponed his trip to Los Angeles this month.
Kemp was set to head out to west next week for an event called “Georgia Night” in LA. But the ground is still a little shaky since he signed a bill that would outlaw abortion as early as six weeks.
Actors and some film companies have vowed to boycott filming in Georgia because of the law.
Industry workers have also threatened to boycott Georgia, while some have said they would donate to groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union instead.
Kemp's spokesman, Cody Hall, says he will soon tour Georgia film production firms and meet with industry workers to show his support.
Governor Kemp's office says he will make the trip this fall.
