Spokane County reports 80 new cases, no new deaths

The Spokane Regional Health District is reporting 52 COVID-19 patients who are currently hospitalized.

Spokane County

Spokane County is reporting 80 new coronavirus cases and no new deaths on Saturday, Feb. 27. 

The number is the third lowest single day case count since October. On Jan. 25 and Feb. 15 SRHD reported only 57 new cases.  

With adjustments to data reported on previous days, the Spokane Regional Health District is reporting a total of 37,265 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. The health district is also reporting 52 COVID-19 patients who are currently hospitalized. 

As of Friday, 16,196 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered at the Spokane Arena mass vaccination site, according to SRHD.

According to the health district, 579 people have died of COVID-19 so far in Spokane County. 

So far, one person between the ages of 10 and 19 years old and three people between ages 20 and 29 have died from the virus. Seven people in their 30s have also died.

So far, 91.4% of patients in the county have recovered.

Where cases stand in Washington state

  • Since the start of the pandemic, the DOH reports that 19,210 people have been hospitalized for COVID-19 in Washington state.
  • The state reports of the total confirmed cases in the state that Washington's coronavirus death rate is 1.5%.

North Idaho

The Panhandle Health District is reporting 44 new COVID-19 cases and seven new deaths among Idaho's five northern counties on Thursday, Feb. 25. 

There have been 21,988 cases confirmed in North Idaho since the pandemic began. Twenty people are currently hospitalized in North Idaho and 1,058 people have been hospitalized since the pandemic began, according to PHD. 

According to the health district, 261 people have died from the virus in North Idaho.
