ATLANTA — An email from the office of the president of Georgia State University released Saturday morning said that a staff member working in the Robinson College of Business has tested positive for COVID-19.

The individual was reported to last be on the GSU campus on March 12. According to the university, the employee is being treated at a local hospital.

The university says they have contacted others who may have been in proximity to the staff member.

According to CDC guidelines, it is mandatory for those who have been exposed to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 to self-quarantine for 14 days from the date of notification.

Health officials are taking precautionary measures to quickly identify cased of COVID-19 and take appropriate measures to reduce the spread of the virus and protect the general public.

It is important that everyone pay close attention to overall health and to any COVID-19 symptoms that may arise. Additionally, if you develop any symptoms, stay home and contact your health care provider or local health department right away.
