ATLANTA -- It is the definition of a massive undertaking. On Thursday, crews began moving the 6 ton, 42 foot high "Battle of Atlanta" Cyclorama from Grant Park to its new home at the Atlanta History Center.

The gigantic panorama depicts the civil war battle fought east of the city in July of 1864. Over the next few months, the painting will undergo a full restoration at the History Center - including the recreation of 7 feet of sky along the top.

The new exhibit is set to open in the fall of 2018.
