Nearly six years after Edith Sheffield was found burned to death, her husband has been arrested for murder.

Timothy Larue Sheffield was arrested by GBI and Coffee County sheriff’s deputies on Dec. 21 and is facing charges of murder, aggravated assault, arson and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was transported to Coffee County Jail.

Edith Sheffield’s body was found inside her burning home on Jan. 18, 2013. Officers responded to the house fire and found her inside the home on Bowens Mill Road. Her death was ruled a homicide.
