ATLANTA — The Boys and Girls Club of America at Peachcrest officially has a new gym.

Kenny Smith, former NBA basketball player and NBA on TNT sports analysts, met up with the Boys and Girls Club of Atlanta Wednesday to showcase newly renovated gym. They unveiled their new gym around 4 p.m. at The Salvation Army Peachcrest Boys & Girls Club in Decatur off Sherrydale Lane.

Ashley Keyes, Director of Public Relations for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America wrote that more than 115 Club members will be able to participate in programs that promote teamwork and staying active.

Lowes and the Kenny Smith Foundation partnered to bring the new site to Sherrydale Lane. This isn't the first time the Kenny Smith Foundation and Lowe's have partnered up to renovate a gym.They also partnered up to refurbish a Charlotte-area Club in February.

The renovated gyms has new hoops, scoreboard, paint job, tiles provided by Lowe's and a brand new gym court, Keyes wrote.

"To date, Lowe’s has provided grants to over 280 Clubs ensuring that all young people have a place they find comforting, supportive, and FUN to visit every day," a Boys and Girls Clubs of America spokesperson wrote.

**Since 2009, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has proudly partnered with Lowe’s to provide more than $18.5 million to Boys & Girls Clubs across the country, and in 2016 launched Renovation Across the Nation to further support much-needed funding to Clubs for improvements and refurbishments.
