STATHAM, Ga. - Barrow County Emergency Services worked to get a large business fire under control Wednesday morning.
Capt. Scott Dakin said emergency crews received the call around 5:30 a.m. When they arrived on scene at B & M Pallet Co Inc. they found 40-50 foot flames in the air. Seven tractor-trailers, buildings with at least 10,000 of the 20,000 pallets were on fire. As of 7:50 a.m. firefighters were still working to put out the blaze. By 9:00 a.m. they were monitoring hotspots.
Part of Atlanta Hwy was closed until around 11 a.m. due to the fire. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
