A 15-year-old girl was killed Wednesday night in an overnight shooting in DeKalb County.
In all, four people were shot. The other three victims were taken to local hospitals. One is in critical while the two others are being treated for minor injuries.
The incident took place in front of the S & N Superette convenience store on the 4100 Glenwood Road. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered multiple cars with bullet holes in them.
The young girl died at the hospital. After being shot, the girl ran to a nearby apartment complex. There she collapsed and neighbors tried to revive her.
Family members identified the victim as Keaira Palmer.
Authorities found between 50 and 60 bullet casings at the scene and initially believed the shooting could be gang-related. Investigators were on the scene conducting a search warrant just before noon.
A witness, who did not want to be identified, spoke with 11Alive's Jerry Carnes about the shooting.
