COVINGTON, Ga. -- Police have made an arrested in the murder of a mother of two whose body was found along the banks of a Newton County river last summer.

On Monday, the Newton County Sheriff's Office announced that James Hill had been charged with murder and concealing a death. Newton County Sheriff's Sgt. Courtney Morrison said that Hill had been jailed at Smith State Prison since around the time of Marshall's murder.

Investigators attempted to interview Hill, who invoked his Miranda rights. He was then charged in Marshall's death. He's scheduled to return to prison Tuesday until other court appearances

After Marshall's body was found, friends described the 27-year-old mother of two as "one of a kind" who loved life.

“Outgoing, very caring; she’ll give you the shirt off her back,” Lauren Martin said. “She was well-loved and great mother and a great person.”
